Activities/Club
Extracurricular activities are recognized and organized in MICS. MICS acknowledges that student activities cultivate the gifts God has given to students as well as to instill school spirit and allow opportunity for fellowship outside of the classroom. Students will have great opportunity for self-expression in the clubs they choose to participate in. Club membership gives students an opportunity to share, learn new skills, create, and lead fellow students. Eligible clubs must be consistent with the school’s philosophy of making a difference in lives, one child at a time taking into consideration to impact the emotional, cultural, mental, physical, and spiritual growth of its members.
Participation in extracurricular activities is a privilege, not a right. A minimum requirement of all students for participation is good character. Students are expected to abide by the rules, policies, and regulations set by the club/activity and the school. Some of the active clubs are as follows: Gardening Club, Newsletter Club, Book Reading and History Club, Speech and Photography Club, Cooking Club, Sports Club, Singing and Dancing Club, and Arts and Craft Club.
The school Principal and the Student Activities Coordinator approve proposed activities and clubs. Club advisers and adult mentors who have experience in the area are appointed to assist student leaders in managing their activities. Scheduling of club sessions will be done on a monthly basis and are posted on the student bulletin board (near the school cafeteria).
